Boards of education are facing at least seven challenges in starting the work of assessing HSC and equivalent results without examination due to corona infection. This complication is mainly feared with seven types of candidates including those who have gone to higher secondary after SSC, change of department, quality improvement candidates, and those who have come from technical to general education.
Examiners and parents are also worried about the issue. However, several officials from the Ministry of Education and the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Education told Prothom Alo that their main goal is to ensure that students are not harmed.
On October 8, the government announced that there would be no Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations this year due to Corona. HSC results will be declared on the basis of the average results of JSC, SSC, and equivalent examinations.
Talking to officials from various education boards, it was learned that the big problem is how those who studied in one department in SSC but changed the department after going to higher secondary (someone may have studied in science in SSC, but studied in humanities or business education in HSC) will produce their thematic results. Because, with the change of category, the rest of the text subjects change except a few compulsory subjects. The subjects of JSC, SSC, and HSC are now being 'mapped' to solve this thematic complexity. Some sort of arrangement will be made for those who have similarities. And for those who do not match, there will be another arrangement.
